After many requests for a CBT workshop, we are excited to announce the beginning of our training workshops in September! We wanted to take the time to unpack what the day will entail. what to expect, and who the workshop is suitable for.
What will the workshop entail?
The format of the workshop is split over two days. One day will consist of a teaching format, the second will be a private one on one CBT session in our Ormeau Road offices. The reason for this being is that we understand group settings can be difficult to ask questions, therefore we are ensuring that each attendee receives one on one time to go over any skills work you did not understand or ask any questions you didn’t want to ask in front of a group.
The workshop will be split up into different sections;
Where your anxiety has come from
What is maintaining your anxiety
The biology of Anxiety
Developing new coping strategies for Anxiety
By the end of the day, you will have a personalized treatment plan in place to apply at home.
How many will be at the workshop?
Although there is a demand for spaces, we have decided to run our workshops in small numbers (around 10), as we understand that as you will be experiencing anxiety, small numbers will lead to a more comfortable experience. We wanted to ensure that attendees are aware that no one will be ‘put on the spot’ to introduce themselves or participate in the workshop. Although there will be some worksheets to complete during the workshop, these are for your own notes and copies to take home. No group discussions or networking is required or expected.
Who is the workshop suitable for?
This workshop is suitable for individuals who are experiencing panic attacks in situations such as public or private transport, heights, phobias etc.
When / Where?
Our panic attack workshop will be running on Sunday 9th September from 11am to 1pm in ‘The Good Room’ @ The Bullit Hotel, Belfast. We have chosen a Sunday to ensure easy parking. A light breakfast will also be provided.
